Best selling albums in this decade by a black female artist in the US

1. Beyonce: “BEYONCE”

Queen Bey has sold over 2.2. million albums in the US making this album the Best selling album by a female black artist of the decade. Billboard also deemed this album the second best album of the decade scoring a meta-critic score of 85/100 which is the best review score by a female artist. This album was also nominated for ‘Album of the year’ at the 2015 Grammy awards.

2. Nicki Minaj: “Pink Friday”

Nicki Mianj debut album debut with one of the best first week sales by a female rap artist. Since it’s release, she has sold over 2 million albums in the US, making this album the best selling album by a female rap artist and second best only behind Beyonce. Beyonce and Nicki Minaj are the only two black female artist to go double platinum selling over 2 million records since 2010.

3. Rihanna: “Loud”

This Grammy ‘Album of the year’ nominated album has pushed more than 1.8 million copies in the US.

4. Beyonce: ‘4’

Beyonce 4th album ‘4’ has sold 1.4 million copies in the US since it’s 2011 release.

5. Sade: “Soldier of love”

Sade album was released in Feb 2010 selling 1.3 million albums in the US.

6. Rihanna: ‘Unapologetic’

In 2014, Rihanna won ‘Best Urban Contemporary album’ at the Grammys. Since it’s 2013 release, she has sold 1.1 million copies in the US.

7. Rihanna: ‘Talk that talk’

Since it’s 2011 release, this album has sold 1.12 million albums in the US.

8. Nicki Minaj: ‘Roman’s reloaded’

Nicki Minaj sophomore album has already been certified platinum with albums sales more than 900,000 since it’s 2012 release.

Beyonce, Rihanna, Sade, and Nicki Minaj are the only black female artist to go platinum in this decade (2010-present).
